Community Programs
For over 40 years, the Department has worked on behalf of those most vulnerable in our state. Our programs provide essential services to children and families to prevent child abuse and neglect. The types of programs included are: Fatherhood, Home Visiting, Mentoring, Non-School Based, Parent Education and Support, Community Awareness and Training, and Respite Care. These programs are supported by state and federal dollars.
Evaluations of
Programs Funded
Child abuse and neglect costs taxpayers $3.7 billion dollars every year.*
In 2015, the Department and a team from Auburn University’s Human Development and Family Studies department began a systematic evaluation of its funded programs to document the effects of the Department’s outreach and of ADCANP/CTF program offerings for youth and parents around the state.
