Carli Brasfield
Congressional District 7
Carli Brasfield, MSN, FNP-C, is a Nurse Practitioner at UAB Medicine and a proud resident of Homewood, Alabama. She is the devoted stepmother to Asher (7) and mother of Barrett (2), a former 26-week preemie and 1-pound miracle baby who is the light of her life.
After navigating a 403-day NICU stay and the complex world of pediatric specialty care, Carli quickly became immersed in the systems that support medically fragile children and their families. From specialty clinics and therapies to care coordination and insurance navigation, her journey as a medical parent provided invaluable insight into the challenges families face every day. Carli’s unique dual role as both a healthcare provider and medical parent has fueled her passion for advocacy, education, and family empowerment. She is deeply committed to helping parents feel informed, confident, and supported as they navigate an often overwhelming healthcare system.
As a member of the Parent Advisory Council, Carli is honored to use her voice and lived experience to partner with families, providers, and community leaders to strengthen family-centered care and improve outcomes for children across Alabama.
In her free time, Carli enjoys reading, traveling, and snuggling with her family’s dog, Finn.
